Cert-Manager configuration
"cert-manager" is a Kubernetes add-on to automate the management and issuance of TLS certificates. Camel K’s Ingress trait can leverage cert-manager to automatically discover and use an existing Issuer or ClusterIssuer, annotating the generated Ingress so cert-manager handles certificate issuance and renewal.
| cert-manager is an optional configuration. It is not required to run Camel K. |
Cert-Manager privileges
Camel K needs certain privileges to read cert-manager’s Issuer and ClusterIssuer resources. The installation procedure should take care of these privileges regardless of the installation methodology you’re using.
| you should install cert-manager before installing and running the Camel K Operator. This is required because the operator checks for cert-manager’s presence once at startup. If you install cert-manager after Camel K, you must restart the Camel K operator Pod for auto-discovery to take effect. |
